One day the world as we know it is going to change, that’s just a fact of life. Look at any moment in history and tell me I’m wrong. In fact, look back at the last few months and tell me I’m wrong. The world changes, sometimes it grows and evolves and sometimes we go back a thousand years or two.
The world will change again, that’s what the world does best. The problem is, the world doesn’t always change the way you want it to change. That’s the shit thing about democracy, you can’t always have it your way. Votes are counted and the outcome is final (in most cases) and then the world changes, either for the better or the worst, depending on which side of the fence you are on.
So, the world changes and the people of the world change too. 200 years ago, people worried about what was happening around them, in their city or town. Now we worry about the entire world because the world is all around us. The world is so small that we can find out if a bully in America was a cunt a few moments after them being a cunt. The world has changed, some people like it, some people don’t.
One of the biggest problems with a democracy right now is that opinions have become so important. Of course, your opinion is valid, but it is not fact, it is an opinion. You will have opinions that some people agree with and others don’t, however, 2+2=4 is a fact that no one can deny. We leave in a democracy, that means that you can not have it your way all the time. I know that sucks, I understand that’s shit, but that’s the way the world is. Your opinion doesn’t change the facts and only the facts can change your opinion. It’s your right to say that you’re pissed off, it is someone else’s right not to listen.
