Going in search of originality

sunset-142698_1920I find the idea of searching for originality a bit of a strange concept because we are all original in some aspects and the same in some aspect, that’s just the way it works. The very nature of searching for something that is already inside you doesn’t make sense and also going on the same journey as everyone from your generation to find originality is copying others to find out what makes you original.

This is not to say that the very idea of going travelling to find yourself is ridiculous, but the idea of doing the same trip or the thing that someone you know has done is quite a strange concept to me. Surely you must do something original to find originality? Some people, it seems, just can’t think for themselves even when searching for something that is supposed to separate them from everyone else in the world.

We aren’t that different from one another, but of course we all have this idealistic notion that we are all here to make a massive impact on the world in some way and that we just haven’t found that way yet and that is what we search for, but maybe, just maybe, we aren’t all here to make a change or make a difference to the world, or maybe we are. Or maybe we all have the power to change the world but instead, decide a path that isn’t right. We all have the power to change people’s life’s around us though either for the good or the bad and so maybe originality isn’t all that important maybe what is important is to be kind and caring to whomever we meet regardless of the numbers of people and in that way we will all change the world, just a bit slower than we all want in our grand scheme.
