The things that weigh heavy on our minds can really halt us from doing anything. They infest our minds and infect us from the inside out. An issue that is pressing down on you can fill you with stress and horror, so much so that it can feel like a struggle to breathe at times. When these things are weighing on you and stopping you from doing anything, they are killing you, slowly but surely, they will kill you.
I have heard of a way of getting rid of these pressing matters. When you have something on your mind that is distorting you and controlling you, you can conquer it by spending 5 minutes on the task that now seems impossible. You see, tasks that seem impossible, were once something much more simple. The weight only became so strong because you made it so. Spending 5 minutes on such a task can alleviate some of the weight and make you realise that the task isn’t so impossible as you once thought. This 5 minutes may then lead to 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 1 hour or more. Once you have spent a few minutes doing this impossible task, you may decide that you can do it and then just get to doing it.
A task only becomes impossible when you make it seem impossible. Nothing is impossible, you just haven’t figured out how to do it yet. Don’t let your brain get weighed down by problems you can’t solve, spend 5 minutes trying to solve them and if you can’t, leave it until you think of something else to try.
Give it a go, I have done this a few times and it worked for me.
