Being proud of your work

I think being proud of what you put out into the world is something that should always be on the top of your to-do list. You have to be proud of the things that you create simply because if you aren’t people can smell it a mile off.

I think that you can easily spot someone who doesn’t give a shit about the work they that are selling. They lack the conviction and the passion it takes to convince anyone. The work might be half decent but if they know they can do better, they make it clear to you that they can do better. Without saying anything bad at all, they have made you aware that they don’t like their work.

When I was selling wooden bowls on Etsy, I did that a few times, put work out that I knew wasn’t my best work and you know what? They didn’t sell, they are sat in my house. I knew that this wasn’t my best work and the people reading the descriptions of them knew as well. The work I felt was my best sold out very quickly because of my passion for the piece.

This is why I have been talking about my book a lot recently. I feel 100% sure that it is the very best book that I cshield-1519642_1920an put out right now. I spent 50 hours on a book that is 7,000 words long. Plus another 5 hours on the cover. I have edited it, re-edited and then edited it some more until I knew that it was exactly what I wanted to put out into the world. Yes, this is a plug for my book because I am bloody proud of it!

Remember, always put your best work out into the world, it doesn’t mean it will stay your best work because we all evolve and get better at the things we are creating but making it the best you can at that moment, means you put your heart and souls and blood, sweat and tears into it and that is all that counts.
